Juvaderm For Non-Surgical Chin Implant (Chin Augmentation)
Having a receding chin but want a non-surgical chin implant instead of opting for a surgical chin augmentation? The clever use of fillers such as Juvaderm (more properly known as Juvederm) can correct this problem of a receding chin without having the patient going through the trauma of of surgery for chin implant. Under local anesthetic, or in the case of Juvaderm which is now available premixed with lidocaine, about 1 – 2 ml of Juvaderm can be injected from the front of the chin to enhance the forward protrusion of the chin. After injection of this hyaluronic acid filler, the injected mass can be massaged and molded to the desired shape. The resultant aesthetically more acceptable jaw will retain its shape and side for up to a year.
An obvious advantage of using the filler that has local anesthetic incorporated is that this eliminates the trouble of having to provide local anesthetic whether one is using ice packs, anesthetic gel, or injecting into the various nerve block fields, and running the chance of temporarily altering the architecture of the face to the extent of being unable to work well with a swollen environment.
